Happy Easter!

Easter morning we woke up to an inch or so of snow on the ground. So much for an outdoor easter egg hunt. Luckily it was gone by the time that we got out of church.

Camden was so excited and thought that we needed to leave something out for the Easter bunny. She had been planning it for weeks. She decided that carrots with sugar on them and one of her colored eggs would be the best treat! I am sure that he loved them.

The girls all ready for church. It is too bad you can't get them all to look and cooperate at once.

Camden on the hunt. She was determined to get the high egg. And she did!

Kota all excited and dancing around as usual after the hunt.
Oakley was all upset when she realized that she wasn't going to get anymore candy.
The girls all had a great Easter and were as happy as can be. (And who wouldn't be after all that candy right?!)

It's Official!

It's a done deal. Darrick signed on a practice today! Yeah! He was so excited. We are glad to finally have something that will work and be steady. He has worked at 6 different offices since we've been out of the residency and for one reason or another none of them have worked out. We could go into a lot of detail of why, but we'll spare you that at this point. He was tired of jumping from place to place, including doing dentistry in a mobile bus. We are so grateful to him for all that he has done. He has learned tons at each of these experiences and is ready to move on.
To celebrate we went out to dinner. We moved into town the day before so we're not too familiar to everything around, but we were able to find a great restaurant that even had something that the kids would eat.

The Big Move

Once again we are finding ourselves moving. No fun. It takes months to pack up and it feels like even longer to unpack. We didn't really expect to be moving right now, but things don't always work out the way you plan. After packing up, cleaning, and moving, I think that we have come to the conclusion that it is definately worth paying someone else to do it for you. Especially when you have 3 little ones under foot. We are so glad to be done. I don't know where we get all of this stuff. We even got rid of tons this time before we moved and we still filled the truck. Thank goodness we are just down to unpacking the last few boxes!!!

Our little Seamstress

Camden has been into sewing the past few months. For Christmas she made all of us fleece scarves that were so cute. She made every bit of them by herself. A couple of months ago she wanted to make a dress for her bunny. The bunny had supposedly just turned 8 and was getting ready to be baptized. I helped her cut the dress out (out of the only semi-white fabric that I had) and then she sewed it together all by herself. She even added the lace.

Yesterday during conference, we were in the study watching it on the Internet and she decided that she wanted to sew. I got her some fabric and a needle and thread and away she went. She found the dress that she wanted to use for a pattern, I helped her trace it. She then cut it out and sewed it together. The only help she needed was to thread the needle. It turned out cute. She tried it on and it was a little tight, so she decided that she would give it to Kota. Kota was thrilled. She put the dress on and didn't take it off for the rest of the day. She wanted to wear it to bed as well, I didn't want to fight so I agreed to that. I hope that she wakes up with it all in one piece.

Disney on Ice

Camden and I went to Disney on Ice when Kota was still little back in Iowa. We had a great time and she has wanted to go back ever since. Kota also wanted in on the fun. I had been telling them that when we moved here that I would take them. Well the time came. Darrick was planning on staying home with Oakley, and I would take the other 2 and have a little girls night out. Darrick ended up working in Granby friday morning, so he had to take off Thursday night. Needless to say I had to take all 3 of them by myself. I was quite worried, especially since Oakley has been working on getting 4 teeth in this week, as well as having double ear infections. It started at 7:30, her bedtime, which also added to my excitement. Can I just say what a trooper she was. They all did so good, and had a great time. Oakley was totally fascinated during the first half, she kept clapping at everything and was so excited. I thought for sure that she would fall to sleep, maybe that was just my hope. The second half she was a bit restless, but we made it through. I am so glad that I took them. They were a little disappointed that they didn't get to see all of the princesses, but were grateful that Cinderella and Snow White made an appearance. I sure wish that Darrick could have come with us. We are so grateful for him, and for how he works so hard for us!

Kota with a little cotton candy. The highlight of the evening.

Time Out for Women

Last weekend I went to Time Out for Women up in Denver. I had such a great time! The speakers were awesome and I saw a few friends that I hadn't seen for a while. It was so nice to get away for a while ( I even stayed over night). It was such a great refresher for me. Darrick and the girls did a great job at home. Thanks for letting me go, and thanks girls for the fun times.

Boy I love this kid!

My little Oakley is such a sweetheart. She could make anyone melt. She is so much fun to be with and watch. She is a lot like her sisters, in that she doesn't like to sit still. They sure love her, even though there are times that she cramps their style. (She is not quite the crafter, card maker, etc that they are yet, but loves to be right beside them.) My favorite thing is when daddy comes home. I just love watching her. Even if she just hears his voice she lights up. She is generally a momma's girl, and screams screams screams if it is not me that picks her up at night, but wants her daddy time when he comes home. The other day he came walking in and she went running up (as fast as her legs would take her) with both of her arms stretched out for him. When he picks her up she snuggles in and just looks at him in adoration. She almost looks as if she hadn't seen him in years. It is so cute, and I love that it happens every time that daddy comes home. She gets cuter every day! We could just love her to death!
